Terms of Reference for PR Sub-Committee
Purpose of the Group
The purpose of the Amach!LGBT Galway Ltd PR Sub-Committee is communicating with the LGBT community in Galway city and county, networking with relevant local and national groups and organizations, .representing the company in the press and media and maintaining the web site of the group as well as the web site of the Pride Sub-Committee.
Composition of the Group
The Amach!LGBT Galway Ltd PR Sub-Committee consists of members from the board of directors, minimum of two. Volunteers will be sought to help with additional tasks as needed e.g. web/graphic design. A new committee is elected every year following the company AGM.
Organisation of the Group
The Group will meet as often as is required. Meetings will be called by the Chairperson. Each meeting will be minuted fully by any other member of the group. The main facilitator of the sub-committee will be the Amach!LGBT Galway Ltd board of directors.
Power of the Group
The group has the power to represent Amach!LGBT Galway Ltd in the press and media and to liaise with other local and national organisations as it sees fit in the best interests of the company. The group manages the company web site and the Pride Sub-Committee web site, updating them as required. The group cannot make any decisions or take any actions that will have legal or financial implications for the company, without the prior agreement of the Amach!LGBT Galway Ltd board of directors.
Communication
The PR Sub-Committee will report back to the Board of Directors of Amach!LGBT Galway Ltd at each board meeting and a copy of the PR Sub-Committee minutes will be presented to the company Secretary for filing at the company office. The group will bring information and recommendations to the board for a vote on further action as necessary.
Time Scale
The Amach!LGBT Galway Ltd PR Sub-Committee will be in place for a year, until the next AGM.
Review and Evaluation
A review of the terms of reference will be a priority for the project if the nature of the work of the group changes in any way. Should this happen – a new terms of reference will be drawn up and agreed by the Board of Directors.
